Well I have the same type of holding as the pry bar, The only difference is, I take a piece of flat stock about 2 ft. long/ with a hole drilled in it, the size of the lug nut stud. Just jack the cart up and let the stock rest on the ground as you turn the Axel nut. This has worked for me for a few years.

I only use a bar to torque the castle nut back to 70 to 140 ft/lbs as Dana book says.
My Ingersol Rand impact has no trouble removing the nut without holding anything. |
