Default 42 volt conversion

I've seen people ok here converting their 36v carts to 48 and having to get new controllers and solenoids. My question is if I added a single battery to my ezgo marathon would I need a new controller? I have a stock controller(I think) and I don't have a solenoid(I know I should, I just haven't gotten around to getting a new one, I have the old one bypassed)

You need a new controller and solenoid, as well as a 42V charger.

If your batteries have any use on them, you can not add another battery to the pack.

I went 42V with 7 new Trojans, and controller/solenoid & charger from Scotty. Very happy with it.

The 7th battery would also have some miles on it. And I do have a charger that can charge 42 I just wasn't sure if I needed a new controller or if the stock can handle 6 extra volts
