cold weather - seems like she's froze up
was working fine for two runs in the 3 inches of snow we have here at the beach and then seemed like the accelerator wasn't catching. it warmed up from 20 degrees to right about freezing at 32 and she worked again,
; now not working again and charger has been on for an hour. what are some cold weather issues we should troubleshoot? I thought she was charged, does the cold weather drain batteries much faster? electronics maybe? charging her now... |

Extreme cold and extreme heat reap havoc on batteries......does it try to move or just not do anything....?

I may be wrong on this but, the AH capacity on batteries drop 10% for every 10-15 degree drop below 80 degrees, but while sitting, cold batteries self-discharge at a slower rate than hot batteries do.

its 36 volts stutters goes a little and quits and go.s again two feet. its in the garage charging. you think the boys up north don't use elec carts in the winter gas probably much better in the cold.

Pack voltage? Cold weather brings out the worst in batteries!

Re: cold weather - seems like she's froze up
At 20°F, a perfectly good T-105 is effectively a 135AH battery instead of a 225AH battery.
In addition, the tires and lubricants are stuffer. so it take more amps to move the cart. Also, metals, plastic and other stuff, shrink when they are cold, so various contacts may not be making good contact. |

36 volts is a dead pack. Actually around 50% SOC, but pretty much time for a FULL charge, not just a couple of hours.
