Default Battery confusion

I know I need batteries and called around some yesterday. Looking at the T-875s for a 48V upgrade. 875s seem to run between $120 and $135 each around here. I asked about availability of the 890s and Ranger 160s and had one person willing to call the distributor, but got some interesting/weird info. She told me that per Trojan the 160s are equvalent to the 875s. Not sure if miscommunication, or wrong, of if that is actually correct. She can get me either the 890 or the 160s for $180 each. So for an extra $300 for a set. Not worth it at least at this point.

Any thoughts?

Definitely some miscommunication someplace.

Attached are the datasheets for the five 8V cart batteries Trojan now has.

It appears the T-860 has been renamed and is now called a TV8

The AH Ratings (@ 20 hour Rate) are as follows:
TV8 ------------ 160AH
T-875 ---------- 170AH
Traveler-8V ---- 170AH (Has same AH as T-875, but Trajan claims it has 40% longer life expectancy)
T890 ----------- 190AH
Ranger 160 ---- 204AH

The T-875 (170AH) will give you approximately the same run-time (range) as a standard 36V battery pack in good condition.

Should have asked her, if their equivalent why does the comparison on "Trojan's" website compare the 875 as 117 min.@56amps and the Ranger is 160 min.@56amps. And if their the same why is one $120-$135 and the other is $180. So no, their not the same. Sounds like a lying Trojan representative or either a lying dealer just wanting to sell you 875's.

OR someone (Sale's person) that really doesn't know what they are talking about.....which is very common at a dealer.

Well I had seen the data sheets and the Trojan website, but curious as to what I was missing. I wonder if the warehouse looked at the Traveler 8V and jsut saw the 170aH and called it good?

Not sure who I want to deal with, the local folks say that Trojan only makes 1 8V battery and I told them otherwise, the nice lady that I am not sure about is about an hour and half away, but will order whatever i want.

Of the 3 dealers I called yesterday, none had ever put anything other than an 875 in a cart, as their 8V battery anyway.
