Question All is cool but the motor ?

Got a 1999 cc 6" lift 23" tires alltrax dcx400. All is good but the stock motor. Got 1/0 gauge cables throughout but the motor is smoking hot an is starting to smell. Controller says good for stock motor only. Any suggestions? Sorry it is 48v

is this series cart ?
how hot is hot , have you checked it with a temperature gun . make sure all connections are tight and water in levels are good. 1/0 cable is overkill just wondering about strand count , are they flexible and the right size eyelets.

Its a regen II cart. All connections are good. The cables a very flexible there are made from left over power cable from car audio. The cables ends are all correct. Didn't check with temp gun yet. I was running it for about 20 minutes or so hard pretty much full throttle the whole time. Think it just was run to hard ? Thanks

Get the software and set max armature current @ 180 amps if that runs cooler then step up by 20 amps at a time
