Outdoor charger protection.
I'd like to see (or read) how you guys have charger set up outside.
My cart stays outside ready for action and I've just always had plywood over top to keep rain out but just switched from 36 to 48 volt requiring new charger and the "newness" hasn't worn off yet, so I'm looking for ideas on what I could do to protect it from the elements. Re: Outdoor charger protection.
It rains sideways at times around here, so having the charger outside was never an option. I parked the cart next to a shed and ran the output cable under the door.
I was going to install a 20' output cable on the charger to give me more leeway were I parked the cart, but SWMBO wasn't too happy about the cart shading the grass and leaving a large brown spots in the backyard, so cart is now parked in the garage. Build something akin to a doghouse with louvered walls for ventilation. |

Thanks for the ideas!
I am going to replace the charger chord with longer one as you had attempted to do. (I don't have any grass for my wife to worry about) The longer cord will be handy at camp grounds also. Thanks JohnnieB! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Outdoor charger protection.
I have charged in the rain outdoors by placing a large Tupperware container over the unit. Something like this could shelter your charger when not in use. Make sure you have enough air for charger cooling when charging.
