Yea, thing is I don't know nor do I have a way to find out. I mean, it's a 1998. Most all carts have lived a few years on a course somewhere. I get my carts that I refurb from a dealer who buys entire lease turn in lots. My cart could have been through several owners over the years, or maybe only one. It's definitely seen some usage though. It was a trade in from a guy who went with a lifted Club Cart

On my post linked above, the first set of parts helped a LOT.

I got a service call on a 97 txt today, and the steering is flat worn out. You can grab the wheels and shake it and see the play in the box. Most folks don't like to dole out a few hundred bucks to fix older carts though.

well i finally got the kit today. first impression the strut seems heavy duty and hard to open / close by hand. much much more that a gas shock for a trunk lid. will report with installation.

The main cause for this problem in trucks is under inflated or out of balance tires. Once the harmonic vibration starts, it just gets worse as you speed up. Worn front end parts make it worse. Sometimes more air pressure helps on 4x4s
