1999 txt electric cart will not move.
Hello all I am trying to troubleshoot this golf cart. The cart was not always moving when turned so I started to check connections. I had cleaned up some bad connections and actually tied the forward switch connections together as it appeared it was always engaged anyway. It was working for awhile now it just stopped and will no longer go. I noticed that I have 37 volts on both sides of the solenoid without the key turned on. Is the controller no good? Is it ok to keep the forward switch connections tied together? Any advise you have to troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated.

The microswitch you bypassed only functions to kill power when your FNR is in neutral, so no real harm. Does the solenoid click when you try and go?

I do not hear any click. I just think it is strange that there is 37 volts on both sides of the solenoid before I turn the key. I thought there would 37 on one side I would turn the key the solenoid would click and then the 37 volts would be present on both sides.

Go to the stickies and download a wiring diagram. Forget about the large posts on the solenoid. Forget about all big cables, and focus on the small wires to get the solenoid to work.

What is the stickies? I have tried to find a wiring diagram for the 1999 txt and all I see is for the 2001 and above. Can you point me in right direction? My cart is also a Sepex and not as Series if that makes a difference.

Stickies are posts above the ones that are active.
Here's some links that should help. Re: 1999 txt electric cart will not move.
Thanks for links. I have checked them all out and none are for my cart which is a 1999 TXT Sepex DCS cart. All appear to be 2001 or newer PDS series carts. Do you know where the relay gets the power to turn on and what the voltage should be?

Re: 1999 txt electric cart will not move.
The pre-charge resistor will give a 36v signal to the controller side of the solenoid when it actually is open.... so remove the resistor for testing now you can check the solenoid for voltage or test it for continuity across the big posts-
Here is the diagram for the DCS cart - there are some excellent trouble shooting guides in the stickies for DCS. here > http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...eshooting.html |

Re: 1999 txt electric cart will not move.
Thank you. The trouble shooting guide will help. I wasn't sure I could remove the resistor with power on. I did check continuity and the big post are not shorted. The cart is at the campground so I will be checking it out this weekend.
