Re: Another DPI question
I know. The point I was making is that even if you drive it 8 hours a day, every day, it's plugged in 2/3 of the day anyway. I'd leave it plugged in.

Re: Another DPI question
Quote:
If they look dim, it could be the LEDs aren't aligned with the holes, and/or the viewing angle, and/or front lighting on the faceplate. Attached picture is a 36V unit, but the 42V and 48V units are laid out the same. Looking at the alignment between the LEDs and the holes, my guess is that a 30° to 45° downward viewing angle would be best. Quote:
When first connected, the DPI charger goes into a detection mode and current limits at about 5A. If it thinks everything is okay, it goes into a constant current bulk charge mode with the current in the 17A-20A range. When the correct on-charge voltage is reached for the battery type selected, it goes into a constant voltage absorption charge mode and the amps start tapering off. When the Amps drop down to about 5A, it goes into the finish charge mode and the on-charge voltage will climb until the dV/dT criteria for the battery type selected is met. Then it goes into a constant voltage float charge mode. If it is not operating similar to what I described above, give DPI a call. |

Re: Another DPI question
the cart had only been driven about a mile since a full charge, so I thought that was reasonable.
After driving for about 2 hours last night it went to 15a rhen slowly started tapering off it was showing full charge at about 3am when I looked out at it so I think everything is good on it, I'm not going to worry about the leds, just monitor the amp meter and the digital led meter on the cart. The digital meter was showing 53.4 this morning, after driving a mile and letting it rest for a couple of minutes it it was showing 51.3v so I,m happy thanks JohnnyB for your post |
