In this instance, it's possible that "The !@#$%&*(^%$#! reed switch" may have saved your controller. In order to blow it, there was current flow going somewhere.

I agree, chalk it up to one more for the good guys. I will probably just bypass the thing and throw a inlinse fuse on it. Thanks everyone for the help.

The !@#$%&*(^%$#! reed switch failed so many times when the cart was out in the middle of nowhere that EZGO eliminated it in later years. My 2008 has a small fuse instead.

Permanently bypass the miserable thing and run the charger cord through the steering wheel if you can't remember to unplug it before driving the cart.

BTW: I live in Point Pleasant.
Glad to hear we are 30 minutes apart. I now finally have someone I can trust locally to get some legitimate advise
