question about stiff f/r switch
Have a 92 marathon and the f/r switch is very hard to turn. Can you just take out the center shaft that the shifter bolts to, clean and lube and put it back? Or does the hole switch have to come out? If you have to remove the switch can someone send me a video or a diagram on how to do it?
Thanks in advance. |

Re: question about stiff f/r switch
When re assembling the switch the center shaft nut must be all the way or nearly all the way to the bottom of the threads. This nut (B) creates the pressure between the rotating contacts, half of which are on the board (housing) and half of which are in the rotating switch cam.
Failure to maintain solid contact between the 2 sets of contacts will burn the switch up. The diagram below is for the later model TXT floor mount unit. The switch itself is identical to your Marathon cart. Use dielectric grease or synthetic grease to lube the contacts. |
