Default Leaf spring rubber bushing squeak..any upgrade options?

I've replaced my leaf spring rubber bushings many times but it doesn't take long for the "squeak" to happen using these factory rubber bushings.

Does anyone know of an option to replace the rubber with perhaps bronze or even a bearing that would eliminate the squeak?

Maybe this has been covered before but I can't seem to find any threads that address the issue.

Thanks!

I've had the same issue, since i've replaced the worn bushings problem is gone for now... WD40 will help for a while but my idea are some better bushings also.

Yeah....it seems like I just changed them out.....but likely it's been awhile. If I pull out one and look at how worn it is that will tell me. Or if I would keep a log of repairs......

Mine bottoms out really bad in the front.
I replaced the shocks but it made no difference.

Do I need heavier springs?

the best thing I found that works is to lube the bushings with a silicone grease when putting it all together.....after doing that, I have had ZERO squeaks!

you will need to pull them apart now to ensure you get the grease all the way through now.

Try CRC heavy duty silicone spray. Of course it's available at Amazon!

I got both lithium grease and silicon spray. I was really looking for a "more permanent" solution to this "weak spot" in the suspension.

I may be able to get a bronze bushing.....but I'm wondering how long a bronze bushing will last?

I guess, leaf spring bushings has to be a little flexible?

Like plastic, bronze bushings are long-lasting and corrosion resistant. As noted above, their strength allows them to hold up under impact. One potential disadvantage is that metal requires a lubricant to reduce friction and prolong the bearing’s service life. Oil or grease must be applied at installation and during operation.Unquote

I know bronce bushings on my lawn tractor but, neither my classic Mercedes bus nor the Chevy truck has that kind of bushings (always rubber).

Bronze is going to need grease fittings drilled into the spring eye so you can lubricate them. Otherwise they will fill with dirt and water and wear and make just as much or more noise as the rubber ones.
Where are you getting your bushings? Are they from an EZ-go dealer original?
Are you using grease on them when you assemble them? Most types of grease will degrade rubber and can cause problems.
Cheaper bushings that are aftermarket don't last nearly as long as the dealer original bushings, and are more prone to damage from greases and other lubricating sprays.

Possibly find a machinist to make some out of nylon or see if you can source some made out of urethane. Just a thought.
