1st cart and rebuild
Wow this site has a wealth of knowledge. Just got my first cart. I've been wanting one for awhile. It's in pretty rough shape and needs batteries but I got it for free. It is a 2004 TXT series. I plan on it being an all around use buggy mainly set up for hunting but can cruise the neighborhood as well. It has a roof and rear flip seat also but I took them off before I though about taking a picture. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

Re: 1st cart and rebuild
There is some rust on the battery box.
I plan to cut that out and weld some new angle iron in. It looks like it was rode hard and put up wet more than once but nothing I can't handle. Definitely going to need new shocks also. I think I read somewhere that medium duty shocks will give the added support needed for extra weight but not compromise on the comfort. Is that the case? |

Re: 1st cart and rebuild
Like I said I will be using it quite a bit for hunting at the ranch. It will carry corn on the back, 2 guys, and cooler (not all at once) and surely don't want to be bottoming out.

Re: 1st cart and rebuild
It's a series.
I'm also looking for the right tire size. I know the bigger the tire the more torque you lose, but I do have a couple of medium/steep grade hills to climb. |

Re: 1st cart and rebuild
mine was lifted and had atv tires but i dropped it and went with a 18.5" turf masters AND HAVE BEEN THRILLED...they even go great in the snow...not as good in mud but idk...i have a very steep hill and it climbs it much better now.

Re: 1st cart and rebuild
No snow down here in Texas, I will be in about 70% sand, 20% mud, and 10% on the street. Also does a 20" tire have a noticeable effect on the torque/ speed? Thanks for all your input btw
