91 ezgo intermittent problem just clicking
91 ezgo cart works one minute and not the next. When it stops working, I can hear a clicking sound. Normal after a minute or two it would work again, but now it's not. Batteries are 1 year old fully charged and cable are all tight. NOt sure where or what to check next.

Re: 91 ezgo intermittent problem just clicking
Next step is to check for power out of the solinoid when it clicks on/closed.
Then you would check out the forward / reverse switch. |

Re: 91 ezgo intermittent problem just clicking
We'll is dead now.
I check the solenoid and I have 36V going out all the time. I check the forward and reverse switch from battery - to all the posts, 36V all the time. Didn't matter what position the switched was in, they did go to 0 volts when in natural. what should I check now? |

Re: 91 ezgo intermittent problem just clicking
If the solenoid has 36v with the key on and also 36v with the key off I'd suspect the solenoid welded itself closed.

Re: 91 ezgo intermittent problem just clicking
I check it again, and found that with the key in the off position I have 36V on the outside of the solenoid. When the key is on, it drops to about 12V like it shorting out.

Re: 91 ezgo intermittent problem just clicking
I replaced the solenoid and still not working? Any ideas on what's next? I did notice that one of the battery cables is sparking a little when the peddle is pressed down.

Re: 91 ezgo intermittent problem just clicking
sparking is bad...replace or repair cable and go from there...any spark is bad...check and clean all connections...

Re: 91 ezgo intermittent problem just clicking
It sparking from one cable end that I had to put an auto battery cable end on. I will replace it, but that not why it not working. Everything is nice and clean holding 36V. What should I test next?

Re: 91 ezgo intermittent problem just clicking
Fix it first, then check to see if that solved it. The entire current for the cart must travel through each and every battery connection. It only takes one connection with resistance to stop the entire cart from operating properly. If it sparks sometimes, it has resistance to the current flow when under load, otherwise it would not spark at all.
