RXV rear diff oil change
Wondering if I can refill the diff oil through the vent hole in the axle as from what I read you can not get 27oz of fluid in the fill hole in the bottom of the differential. I was able to remove the entire vent so the hole is a decent size. Would post a pick but have to be a member for 7 days and I just registered. Thanks in advance to the help!

Re: RXV rear diff oil change
Thanks CJ! This seems much easier than pulling the axle and putting it in that way

Re: RXV rear diff oil change
Could I lean the cart over on its passenger side far enough to get the 27 required ounces in the fill hole on the bottom of the diff without over flowing? I don't have the proper tools to pull the axle and worry about damaging the wheel bearings if not done properly. Thanks again!

Re: RXV rear diff oil change
I tilted mine and then used a turkey injector to fill it up.
Its been a while since I did mine...don't you need some additive too? |

Re: RXV rear diff oil change
I think I am going to tilt the cart and fill it up as much as I can with a fluid injector I picked up at Auto Zone and then the rest through the vent hole in the axle if needed. I am going to use 25oz of Lucas 85w 140 gear oil which says it doesn't need an additive but I will add 2oz of additive anyway to total the required 27oz. Cant hurt. Thanks for the reply's!

Re: RXV rear diff oil change
Just finished filling the rear diff with oil. Jacked the cart up on the drivers side and filled probably 22 or so oz. in the full hole on the bottom of the diff until it started to run out. Then the remaining 5 or so oz. through the vent hole in the axle. Was really simple doing it that way. I did remove the entire vent hole not just the cap which made the hole big enough to get my fluid pump tube in. Hope this helps some first timers such as myself. Thanks to all who replied.
