95 ezgo medalist cicks but won't move
I have a 95 36v medalist in the shop i'm working on. 37.5v at the pack. solenoid clicks, but won't move in forward and reverse. I have 37.5v on the battery side of the solenoid with key on, but pedal not depressed. I have 32v on the controller side of the solenoid at the same time. Is this normal?

What drive system, Series or DCS?
With the pre-charge resistor installed between the solenoid's large terminals, you will get from about 3V to about 5V less than the pack voltage on the controller side large terminal. |

It's a series. Resistor installed. About 5 volts difference on the controller side

Re: 95 ezgo medalist cicks but won't move
Connect your DVM between the B- and M- terminals on the controller.
Press pedal just far enough to make solenoid click and you should measure full battery pack voltage (37.5V at 80% charge). If you don't measure pack voltage, you've got an open (or high resistance) in the high current circuit. If you do get the voltage, slowly press the pedal to floor and the voltage ought to smoothly decrease to 0V. If it doesn't either the controller is bad or the throttle input to controller is bad. |

Re: 95 ezgo medalist cicks but won't move
I get pack voltage when I press the pedal. No change in voltage while pushing the pedal slowly to the floor. How do I tell if it's the controller or throttle input?

Measure the voltage at the black and white white on top of controller

B- to pin 2 pedal to solenoid click= 14.58v
B- to pin 1 pedal to solenoid click= 0.5v B- to pin 1 with pedal fully depressed= 1.7v |

Re: 95 ezgo medalist cicks but won't move
The voltage on the white wire is a bit high, but the black wire is spot on and those are the readings than count.
Sounds like the controller is bad. |
