Default EZGO DCS Controller Help Needed

Our 97 EZGO DCS died last year and I've finally decided to fix it........I thought.
Replaced the solenoid and pre charged resistor assembly, didn't help.
If I connect B- to the small stud (with the blue wire) on the solenoid the cart works as it should. I'm guessing I need a controller but want to make sure.
Here's the reading on the pins with switch on, F and the gas pedal up.
Pin 1 = .449V (1.57 with pedal down)
Pin 2 = 13.80V
Pin 3 = 0V (back up beeper has been removed)
Pin 4 = 0V
Pin 5 = 0V (38V with pedal down)
Pin 6 = 38V
Pin 7 = 38V
Pin 9 = 38V
Pin 10 = 38V

Battery side of the solenoid = 38V
Contoller side of solenoid = .8V
Small terminal on solenoid = 38V

The only problems I see is that Pin 2 is a little low and the controller side of the solenoid is low.

Is it time for a controller?????

The controller not activating the solenoid as it should, indicates you need a new controller.

The stock DCS controller (Curtis 1206SX) was a faulty design (no under volt protection and other issues), so replace it with an Alltrax XCT.

I was afraid that was the case. Is there a downside to the 500 amp controller vs the 400 amp on a stock cart?

Stock DCS controller is 300A.

No downside that I know of with a XCT48500-DCS running a stock DCS motor.

Sorry, I was talking about the 400 amp Alltrax vs the 500 amp one. For the small price difference the 500 amp Alltrax looks like the way to go over 400 amp Alltrax.

The XCT500 comes with a fan kit, which is optional on the XCT400. so that narrows the price gap even more.

Also, if you decide to go with and aftermarket motor at a later date, you will be ready for it.

The bigger XCT500 amp control is a good choice over the 400 for several reasons.
1. The XCT500 comes with the cooling fan installed
2. The XCT500 turned down to 400 specs will run cooler than the XCT400 doing the same job
3. The XCT500 is big enough for any aftermarket motors later on down the road
4. the XCT500 comes with the nearly indestructible 400 super solenoid and
5. The XCT cable set is 2g instead of 4g for the XCT400 which delivers more amperage.

Personally I prefer the 500 over the 400 for any off the road application.
I hope this helps
