Default In dash digital soc meter

Installed soc digital meter, reading at battery pack 51.2 volts, reading at rear of digital meter 51.2 volts. Reading on front of meter 52.5 volts, is this meter no good? Or is it me? Thanks

My digital display on the dash typically reads 0.2 volts higher than my Fluke multi-meter reading taken across my 48v battery pack. From what I have read on the BGW forum, the 0.2 volt difference seems to be fairly / sort of typical on the cheaper digital displays (like mine).

Your 1.3 volt difference is on the high side ... and could likely be a bad dash meter. You might also want to check with a second multi-meter just to be sure ... and / or pop a new battery into your multi-meter and see if there is any difference. There have been a number of posts on this forum where faulty multi-meter batteries have resulted in erroneous readings.

Off on a tangent, could someone recommend a multimeter for a novice with a nice selection of test leads? Would like to upgrade from Hong Kong junkyard freebie but don't want to spend hundreds. Thanks.
