Default Battery charging contact issue

I have an issue with charging my EZGO cart. It's an older cart, probably from the 90s (I'm not sure of the exact date). When I push the charger plug into the cart receptacle it will charge, but when I let go it stops. I think I need to replace the receptacle in the cart and maybe the plug on the charger end as well (see attached pictures).

Is this difficult to do myself? What parts do I need to buy, is it possible just to get the receptacle and plug and replace them?

Thanks in advance.

Well, I honestly don't know too much about it. But I was thinking of just opening it up, if it's just a case of removing some wiring and replacing with the new ones, I think I could do it.

Also, I noticed one of the parts you posted comes in 6 gauge and 10-12 gauge versions. Which do I need?

I have a 1994 Ezgo Medalist 36v

Thanks for all your help!

6 gauge cable would go on the cart side RECEPTACLE to the batteries (pre wired)
10-12 gauge repair kit goes into charger (new wire connectors need to be solder)

there is pre wired handle if you don't solder good ... you would have to open charger

i have the diagrams if you need them
