Default 06 precedent alltrax mount

Total newbie. Hoping I haven't bit off more than I can chew.
I'm looking for the best place to mount the xtc 500 controller.
It's going to be hard with the factory heat sink on the other side of the panel.
Is that heat sink even needed?

Truthfully you can almost remove the entire center mount plate and mount it how you want. As long as it is in a place that will remain dry and gets air flow, you’re good.

^ What he said. The heatsink is not necessary with the Alltrax. It will stay plenty cool enough with it's built in cooling fan. Remove the factory heatsink and mount it wherever you want to.

I have it mounted now. I'm now starting to upgrade the cables to 2G. On my Curtis controller I have an S1 and S2. On the instruction diagram it shows replacing a light blue wire with a #4 in the wire kit and the orange stays the same. It seems like huge difference. I'm assuming F1 and F2 interchange with S1 and S2.
Is this right? I almost think I'm missing something.
