Default 01 DS not charging

Had a neighbor call me yesterday and said his charger wouldn't turn on. I took a look and the batteries were way low, so I charged them individually to get the pack to over 40 volts. The Powerdrive 1 charger will click and hum, but no movement on the ammeter. I checked the two fuses and both were good. I ran a jumper from the back of the charge port to the pack negative, but still no movement. The next thing I'm trying is to disconnect the pack negative for an hour or so to reset the OBC.

Assuming that doesn't work, is it a bad OBC and problems inside the charger?

If it cuts on and you hear it hum AND you landed the charge port negative to the main pack negative, it is not the OBC as you have now bypassed it and you should be charging. Look here https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/t...roubleshooting as it could be the heatsink failed. If so, look here for parts https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/charger Hopefully it is not the transformer as that is the only thing not replaceable as a cost-worthy option.

After disconnecting the negative cable on the cart for 30 minutes or so, the charger clicks and the meter moves to a couple of amps then slowly falls back down. But the battery pack was reading 58 volts with the charger plugged in and humming. I was able to get another charger and it behaves the same exact way. So I left it plugged in and will check it again tomorrow.

If it turns out you need a charger there is a great deal in the for sale section. DPI 48v Gen 4 charger. $150 shipped.

If you jumped from main battery negative to both sides of the fuse, you ruled out a bad fuse.

Could still be OBC. Ive seen them not work even though they have been jumped.

Charger output is easy to check, so if you wanted to rule that out you could.

Let it charge for a while. Severely discharged batteries will start out charging at a low amp and work themselves up to max output before they taper off to a trickle charge prior to charge termination at the end of the cycle.
