Re: Squeaks and Rattles
Yes, CPP is great, and they're a sponsor. These leaves are a perfect combination of support and ride quality. And the description is correct, you can use your existing u-bolts

Re: Squeaks and Rattles
I just replaced the front and rear leaf spring bushings and took care of that problem. Based on the condition of your shock bushings, I would think they're worn out. Might as well replace those as well. A cheap way to possibly clear up any of the noise. Worked for me. Ordered them on Amazon.

Re: Squeaks and Rattles
It says " U-bolts not required", but I'll bet that is for an OEM setup with OEM U-bolts.
Your current lifted rear end U-bolts look to be right at the max length of use. I'm in the process of replacing a 4-leaf pack with a 3-leaf pack on our DS, both are 1" thick. I'm using the Modz 3-leaf kit and the leaves are thicker that normal. I'm also replacing the single 7/16" U-bolt with a two 1/2" U-bolt setup. The single U-bolt setup just doesn't look right. New U-bolts for your setup should be easy to find if you needed them. |

I think I may try taking the spacer out and adding the new leaves in first. I値l bet I can still use existing U bolts. If not I suppose I値l order some. Maybe I値l do that anyway as they池e probably cheap. |

Re: Squeaks and Rattles
Now y誕ll have me looking at dual action springs. Intriguing, has anyone run them and do they live up to the claim of near factory ride quality?

Re: Squeaks and Rattles
Well after some searching, I went ahead and ordered new dual action leaf springs, bushings, shocks and tie rod ends.
Now I知 interested in swapping out the wheels and tires for something a little less noisy. |

Re: Squeaks and Rattles
How did the dual action springs work out? Haven't got them installed yet by any chance? I'm looking at this as an option to prevent rubbing over terrain when I have some big boys in the back.

Re: Squeaks and Rattles
If you run urethane bushings, do not use regular petroleum- or synthetic-based grease on them as it will destroy the bushings. For urethane bushings you should always use a silicone-based grease - it's clear and really thick so it lasts a long time and it will not eat the bushings. You can usually find small tubes of it at your home improvement store in the plumbing section.
