You need an aftermarket controller if you want to customize it all. Is that what you’re getting at? Custom regen settings?

Of course you can installing a 6 pole, 4 pole or even a 2 pole magnet fools the controller but the braking could virtually be eliminated and even dangerous.

As mentioned, a high speed magnet would speed up the cart and eliminate regen braking...

What would you want to accomplish by doing this?

To make it appear "slower" you would have to increase the poles (pulse count) not decrease them... That would make the regen come in sooner, but so would the RPM limiter and make the cart slower.

Thus the reason I said No sir....

Oh boy'ee. Let me help you understand pulse counts. The stock controller is designed to see 8 pulses for a revolution. Thus the reason in the IQ carts the high speed magnet was used with 4 poles to allow the controller to push more voltage to the motor in an attempt to reach the maximum RPM's. It did this by "fooling" the controller into thinking every 8 pulses was 1 motor revolution when in actuality it was 2 motor revolutions. So if you place more poles into a magnet (which I am not aware of any) it would create more pulses and that would again "fool" the controller to think it was turning more motor revolutions then it actually was and you would end up with a slower cart...
