Default Vacation for 8 days, what to do with charger?

So we are going on Vacation for 8 days and aren't taking our cart.

My question is what do you guys recommend I do with our charger/cart. Do I leave it plugged in the entire time no matter what even if we aren't going to be driving it for 8 days?

We have a 2001 Club Car DS and a Power drive 1 Charger.

The other thing that I need to get taken care of is that the power cord no longer has a ground on it anymore, somehow it broke off.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks again!

With a PowerDrive and OBC it's designed to stay plugged in. However, for 8 days it really doesn't matter much. Charge the cart before you go and even plugged in it wouldn't run the charge cycle again for another week. So as long as it's charged before you go it really won't make any difference.

I leave ours plugged in. As the previous poster said, it really doesn't matter.

Exactly right, with only 8 days you will not reach a maintenance charge (~15 days), so just charge before you leave, you can leave it pulgged in, but when you get back, before you go for a ride, unplug it and wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. That will top the charge off before you go riding.

When we had our winter place in Florida we would leave it unplugged for 3 to 4 months at a time. When we got back we jumped in and away we went. I didn't want to leave the charger anywhere it could walk off.

With no charging? That is hard on your pack as the self discharge rate of the batteries over 4 months would put you at or well below the 50% SOC....
