Hinge roof drop

I am thinking of dropping the roof the cart is 76’’ the hole in my cargo trailer conversion camper is 66’’ so i was thinking of using 15’’x 1’’x 3/16’’ is dropping this far a problem the back bars on my precedent are angled. I could make that angle by cutting bending and rewelding. I am not sure i will be able to drive it in there with it that low. I also thought about cutting them off flush 10’’ down welding in a stud that will fit the inside diameter setting the roof back on drilling and bolting back on. I really would prefer the roof off so i can drive it a little easier. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks jerry
