Default Alltrax Controller wiring install

Hello guys I am new here and have a 2000 DS Club Car 48 volt. I am installing a new motor and removing the stock 3hp motor.

I am also installing the new Alltrax, I have looked at many You Tube videos and have tried to see if any of them are like the one I have. They are not even close.

The model is sr48500

500Amp

I can see where all the wires from motor go to controller but I have three wires on the old curtis that say 1-2-3. I have no idea where to plug those into. I am a visual learner so I always look at photos and videos to make sure I do it right.

Any help is appreciated.

Did you not receive a manual with the controller? You should have. It has the wiring diagrams you need.
Did you know you'll need to upgrade your cables to 2 gauge? You didn't mention new cables so just want to be sure you know this.
I'm sure one of the forum experts will be along to give you more advice.

Here is a link to the manual on the Alltrax website:

I did get manual and new cables. On the cables is that to wire from batteries to motor or is it just to wire batteries up. Kinda of a step by step would have been helpful. Diagram still doesn't tell me where wires 1,2,3 go.

Easy-
1 goes to controller J1 red
2 goes to J4
3 goes to J5
Check your operator manual for color verification on 2 and 3 = they may swap

Smile Re: Alltrax Controller wiring install

Ok, I have installed everything correctly but the solenoid did click but tires didn't move. So my first thought is my solenoid is not as heavy as it needs to be and I think I need the diode "250" that is recommend.

Thoughts? I really don't want to harm my controller or burn anything up. I immediately unhooked Negative wire just in case and turned key off.

Thanks again

The solenoid not being heavy enough wouldn't cause it not to move. Are you getting any flashes on the LED indicator? If it is powering up you should either get green lights, or a combination of green and red for trouble codes.

Ok I tested it again and had to video tape it because the controller is upside down to be able to have all the cables to reach.

I saw two green flashes no error codes

The manual says 2 green flashes is 5K-0 Throttle so what does that mean?

No red lights which is good I hope but wouldn't the wheels move?

That is you're throttle input type. What throttle so you have? MCOR or v glide?
Press the throttle to the floor and watch the light. It should turn amber at full throttle. If it doesn't, you may need to connect the computer and change the throttle type to club car.
