Default AMD BEAST speed?

BGW friends,

I have a 2000 Club Car Ds 48V that I am looking at upgrading. It has a 550AMP controller and I'm looking to buy a torque motor. Looks like the AMD BEAST is the way to go after some research...

Questions:

For those of you running the AMD beast, what MPH can I expect with 22" tires? My goal is 20-21 and looks like ill get there.

I'm looking to get 20-21 (or better) and need the torque. Any other motor suggestions?

Speed is all about RPM, if you are running 22" tires I think you need about 3700RPM to get you just above 20mph.

EDIT: I am referring to motor rpm. This also assumes you have stock gears that are about 12:1.

Default AMD BEAST speed?

My Club Car DS ran 14 before i installed the Beast. 20-21 after I installed the Beast. I also had a 500 or 600 amp controller with 23” tires.

That's exactly the speed I am looking for. How was your torque? I assume with that controller too it was pretty sweet.

I can’t compare to other carts as this was my first cart with a upgraded motor. But I cant think of anything I couldn’t climb or go over. Unfortunately I lost the lease I was in and sold the cart.

My DS with a "Beast" motor and 20" turf tires will top out at 23 mph on a flat road.

It’ll run 20-22mph allday long on 22” tires and flat ground. Torque isn’t an issue......it has plenty.

Thank you ALL! This sounds exactly what I'm looking for speed wise & torque wise seems like everyone is in love with the Beast. Any other motor suggestions out there or should I just pull the trigger on the beast & stop over thinking it? :)

I found the motor in my cart project is toast and I was looking into the same motor. AMD seems to be the better design to start. Mine has the GE grey motor.
