Installed new LED street legal kit - WRONG
I just finished installing a RHOX kit http://www.thecartdepot.com/lgt-306lbt3b9.html everything went perfect except I hooked up the power to the 48v lead instead of the 12v lead. Totally my fault the instructions showed the 48v and 12v locations and has the 12v location highlighted but I used the 48v.
So without knowing I was on the 48v, I buttoned everything up and turned on the headlight. It went on fine, then I pressed the horn and it made a weird beep, then nothing. So I wet back and read the entire book again and saw I used the wrong lead and swapped it to the 12v. But the lights and horn won't work. I'm trying to figure out if I shorted the turn signal assembly or the voltage regulator or the individual accessories like headlight, tail light horn. I don't see anything melted or obvious. Thanks LittleG |

Blown fuse? If you have a 12 volt marine/car battery u can temporally wire each one to see if they work.

Is that kit really worth $400?

Re: Installed new LED street legal kit - WRONG
This is a plug and play kit. So all connections are multi pin. So it would be kind of difficult to test individual components. However the kit came with a push-pull switch for the headlights that I disconnected and swapped for the turn signal assembly. So for a test I disconnected the turn signal assembly a installed the push-pull and still no headlights. So I ordered a new voltage regulator. I'll keep you folks posted.

Fwiw i sell that for 400 and include installation, find a good builder/dealer around you for anything that may be beyond your abilities.

Re: Installed new LED street legal kit - WRONG
This is not beyond my abilities. I connected one wire wrong. I was just looking for conformation that the regulator would permanently trip and block power from going to the individual components. Which it seems like what is happening. But thanks for being condescending.
