Default Burnt terminal on motor, What are my options?

i noticed my 05 Club Cart Champions edition , jerking at times when taking off and this is what i found, i tried to remove it and it looks like its going to break the stud, still working at this point but need to know what options i have , i'm very mechanically inclined , but do i need to send it out to an electric motor rebulder or can i replace it and if so do you know parts numbers and where to get parts ? This is my first post. not sure if i should insert the pics here , but i will. Thanks

If you clip the remaining part of the wire ring and get it out of there you might be able to tighten it a little bit then clean up the upper part of the stud and then see if you can get the nut off.

The threads don't look all that bad to me. You are using a wrench on the bottom nut right?

I just hope you unhook the batteries before you work on it.

i know the threads look ok in the picture but where the wire has been arcing between the nuts it is very thin in the middle of the lug(maybe an 1/8 in. now) and it will break , i'm soaking in penetrating oil and will try at a later date until i find out how to replace the lug , so far from my research it appears the lugs are directly connected to the large wires inside the motor and may not be easily replaced ,i'm really asking if anyone has had this done and what it takes to get this lug replaced?

and yes i'm using 2 wrenches and have power off.

Worst case scenario, I have seen all sorts of fixes in here. You could cut it off flush with the top of the bottom nut, then weld a bolt (upside down) onto that.

Take the motor off the best you can. The stud needs replacing no matter. Take motor to a local motor or alternator shop and the can replace the stud. Or you can send it to plumb quick and have them rework it for you.

you can try to repair that, but your always gonna have a weak spot
cut the wire, pull the motor and replace the stud/brushes on both
buy a set from a vendor here

What he said. Motor brushes aren't to hard to change and will come with both A1&A2 studs. I think that is a GE motor made for club car.
