Front end with lift?
Hi all, new cart owner here. I recently picked up this somewhat goofy '99 electric DS. Does anyone know what this front end is called? I'm considering a 6" lift so I can run 22" tires. Has anyone done so with a front end like this or does anyone know if it may give me issues? The wheel wells seem more confined than a standard front end.
Thanks! Ccds.jpg |

Re: Front end with lift?
I would guess frame and all is the same. What might bite you is that a standard DS’s wheel well opens up on the forward side where as yours doesn’t. Hopefully someone has done one and can chime in but if not you may need to look at mocking something up to see if it’s gonna rub.

Also, I'm very curious to know what this front end is. Club Car option? Aftermarket? Does it have a name? It's really goofy looking, at least with the tiny tires accentuating the front overhand, but the "frunk" is pretty handy. |

I would have to insulate that thing for a rolling beer cooler!

Re: Front end with lift?
Kinda looks like a Chrysler K car
Pretty cool though. Hard to say unless you try. This is the same cart before and after 6” lift. Like most lifts it does kick the front wheels a bit forward. But lifts it up a ton. I’ve got 25” tires on it which may interfere with your front body, but I’d think a 22” or 23” would probably be okay since it moved the whole wheel and tire assembly down that much Unfortunately I doubt anyone here has seen that body or lifted it before, so you probably won’t know until you try. |

I'm dreading the trouble of installing the lift only to learn that the tires hit the front of the fender. I may roll the dice anyway. It will then look like a dork on steroids! |
