2016 Precedent - VERY SLOW, not solenoid!
I have a 2016 Precedent and it is running slow, around 7-8mph and doesn't go above that. It's basically stock except for headlights/taillights and a USB charger in the dash. The batteries are individually showing 8.6v or so and total voltage for the pack is over 50.5v.
I read some forums and replaced the solenoid with an OEM one and that didn't fix it. I could try replacing the MCOR next but wanted to ask the experts before I spent the money. Any other ideas also?? Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk |

If that cart has a speed sensor it certainly sounds like you are in 'limp mode' due to a faulty sensor. I have read on multiple other posts here that 8 MPH is the default when the speed sensor goes bad.

It doesnt have a modified speed sensor if that's what you mean? It is the sensor that came from the factory. You think this went bad?

Based on my reading of these forums to educate myself on my 2002 DS I'd say it's the most likely cause of your issue. The cart is in 'limp mode' since it has lost the signal from the speed sensor.

Test as movin-on referenced in the link. Then if it fails, remove the top hat sensor off the end of the motor. Two 5/16 hex screws and look at the magnet. It may just be broken in to several pieces. I have run into that several times. Replace with stock magnet as speed magnets will not work in 2016 cart.

Re: 2016 Precedent - VERY SLOW, not solenoid!
Thanks, the test above failed so sounds like it's the sensor. Where do you recommend buying a stock magnet from?
I see the part number in the link. Does the magnet just snap into the top hat or do I need to find the whole assembly with top hat included? Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk |
