Question Drive clutch not fully closing on Workhorse

My drive belt will not go all the way to the top of the drive clutch when operating at full throttle,it stops with at least an inch (of clutch face) to spare.I would appreciate any help in finding the cure.

Thanks,Johnny

Do you have the stock belt on it?
Could it be old and very stretched out? How loose is it when the cart is shut off?
Is the driven (rear) clutch opening all the way?

Scottyb,I just put a brand new Ez-go belt on it,it is the standard belt and not the severe duty one,it has slack in it but snug when I roll it off of the driven clutch and I'm not completely sure but I think the driven clutch is opening all of the way;how can I tell for sure it is opening completely?

Thanks for your help,Johnny

No and from looking at the rust mark on the upper 1" of the drive clutch it has not been all the way up in awhile,I just bought the Workhorse and trying to get it up to snuff.

Thanks,Johnny

It has been awhile since i had my stock clutch and belt on there lets see what MMT or other members have to say.... I don't think the belt rides all the way to the top like it does in the rear but, 1 inch down sounds like a lot of unused face....

If you take the belt off - can you fully compress the clutch by hand? The clutches work in unison - you could have a stuck secondary clutch?
