MCI Motor?
I just bought another txt, it's an 04 and it looks like a MCI motor, what does MCI stand for and what's the difference between them and a Robins?
Also who made them?, didn't Subaru buy out Robins? Thanks SB |

Re: MCI Motor?
Hello Stovebolt,
It's an MCI. It has the manifold in the head, so one exhaustpipe / outlet out of the engine. A non MCI has a seperate manifold outside, so two exhaustports. As far as i know a MCI has no oilchannel in the rockercover from one side to the other. I don't know from other differences. Benno |

Re: MCI Motor?
Same pistons - Different gasket sets - Had something to do with California emissions. Carb jets and venturi are slightly different, different electronics, coil, ignitors and muffler.
That's all I know - I've never asked anyone what the MCI stood for, but now have a good reason |

Re: MCI Motor?
Thanks guys, yes it is , low hours private owned garage kept since new, never on a course and not a scratch on it. Had to give 2500 for it though, but seams clean gas ones around here are getting harder to find. Sparky's are all over.
