spex/ series
cant wrap my head around why you cant run a dcs or pds controler and throttle assembly on a seried motor?

The throttle assembly is not a problem if it is compatible with the controller you are using. There are generally 2 types used, resistive and inductive.
The controllers perform 2 completely different functions and they are not compatible. The Series controller is very basic and basically controls motor speed by voltage output. The direction change happens outside the controller with a F-N-R switch. The SepEx controller not only handles voltage but also the control of the field windings, the reversing of the motor, the braking action and the anti roll away feature. The SepEx controller is actually 2 controllers in one box, an armature controller and a field controller. |
