snowmobile engine in a g1
does anyone know if putting a snowmobile engine in a g1 is a good idea? and how difficult is it to put one in! is there a choice of engines that will fit? thanks!

Yamaha Bravo engines are supposed to be the easiest, but I've never done it.

If you want to keep reverse, the engine has to be able to turn backwards. Some Ski-Doo Rotax engines can do this, but I have not heard of anyone putting one in a buggy. The other option is to install a Yamaha Bravo engine and swap the G1 ignition over to it. The pickup coils and fan/flywheel fit perfectly and allow the engine to provide reverse. Here is how I did it:
