Yeah, you already have the wiring in place. Just take out the old reducer and put in a converter hooked up to #1 pos and #4/6 neg. Some do like the extra battery and some don't. I'm enjoying my converter too much to even consider an extra battery for my devices. Read the thread about installing a switch or relay with the converter.

the 48 volt reducer is the way to go, no extra battery no worries about a charger for it no extra wiring................its a lot of extra to think about when you pop another battery inh there........... but one thing i will say if your gonna do a 16 to 12 or a 24 to 12 i would just go with the extra battery...............
