Looking for a 48V to 12V Converter

@ Down South, not to hijack your thread, but you've been looking at converters and I'm curious if they have a switch to change the input voltage, or is it done electronically? I see a lot of them that say 36-48V. None of the specs I have looked at say how to switch the voltage.

I would charge it until it's specific gravity reading is the same as the other batteries, then charge as normal with the cart's charger.

Hijacker You don't flip any switches. Just connect it to any battery pack that is 36-48 volts and like magic, you get 12 volts!

Ideally you would rebalance the pack. Bring the low battery to the voltage/SG of the other 3.....

Great! That makes things easier with less chances to screw something up!

I'm used to working on motors and contactors, where you have to switch taps or set a switch for a specific voltage.

Flipping Wi-fi has been down for a day in a half so I missed most of the posts to this thread.

The voltage reducer doesn't care what input voltage it sees up to 70V DC "Depending on the reducer". It will reduce it down to about +12V. There is no switch.


What I did today..........After the pack charged last night, I put my 12V charger on #4 battery and fully charged it. It only took about 20 Min or so. I can live like this until I get a DC voltage reducer.

I really need about a 30A voltage reducer. I plan to install a stereo system plus a 12V cigarette female receptacle for cell phone chargers, spotlight or what ever.

. . it came in yesterday's mail and is a nice looking unit . . sealed, measures 6"L x 4" W x 2" H . . . all aluminum and has a "trigger" wire to enable/disable the reducer . . .
