20x8x8 tires on a g1
Hi all. I just picked up a second g1. I lifted it about 2 1/4 inches and the front ended up being pushed up a 1/4 of an inch. I really want to put 20 inch tires on it. Will a 20x8x8 turf tire fit?

You've got me confused! If you lifted the cart 2¼", the tires should fit easily.

Re: 20x8x8 tires on a g1
I believe they will go on but my main concern is the front when turning. I was thinking that a 20x8x8 tire might work because it is more narrow than a 20x10x8 tire. Plus it would be a turf tire.

Re: 20x8x8 tires on a g1
I had a G9 I worked on for a guy, it is very similar but I don't know exactly. We tried 20x10-8 (turf tire) and they fit the rear on stock rims with no offset. On the front they rubbed so we put .25" of spacer behind the wheel and they were ok on the front. We ended up getting a set of same 20x8-8 tires for the front since all the weight is on the rear anyway. This guy needed it in wet and soft grass, hills in wet yards, that kind of stuff. The tires were a bogbone syle tread and worked really well, went over soft sand no problem. Only issue was punctures, he would go through some wooded areas and did later have to put tubes in them because he ran over so much stuff. They were carlisle turf mate iirc. You might look for something like a duro desert, they are a knobby but note they are not that wide so they don't hit. Typical for yamaha the front tire will hit the frame by the floor when you turn, can rub the shock, and the rear will hit the plastic inside and maybe the end of the rocker. But be careful the atv tires are larger it must be the tread that sticks out. Another guy runs 18" ag tires on his G1, the tractor style, they vibrate like crazy and have no problem with clearance.
