I've used a set of polk audio outdoor speakers before I installed my rear seat.They sound amazing. Before and after..

I used Polk Audio speakers as well. They are shallow mount marine grade speakers. I mounted mine as pictured below. Tight fit in an electric precedent and did have to cut a small amount of plastic to fit the magnets in but not bad at all. You'd have to do some measuring and figure out if you could get it to work in a DS. But they are 6.5" speakers and the mounting location provides great baffling and they sound really good. People are always surprised that I get as much bass and overall sound with only 2 speakers.

If I ever add a stereo, I will add these as I like component speakers better. I like having the tweeters at ear level or above which gives a fuller sound.


These are marine certified.

Thought more about this, going to take over to audio shop, looking at sub in the back on the seat brackets, going to revamp the lower seat cushion to create center arm rest, mount two mid range there and two tweets about shouder level in the rear seat backs. Something to work on over winter.
