I agree that don't sound right you must have six 8volt batteries. I don't think you could charge a 6 volt battery up to 8.3 volts when 100% charged for a 6 volt battery is 6.42 I believe. If you count the cells where the water goes it will tell you, 4 cells equals 8 volt battery.

your saying a 6 volt battery holding 8.3 volts? do you mean 8 volt battery? .............cause if they are 6 volt batteries thats your problem...........................

you are correct they are 8 volt batteries i did not check the guy that sold it to me told me they were 6 volt and i took his word . sorry for the confusion
