PDS beeps and motor stops the cart.

I have a 2009 pds with a new controller, solenoid, micro switch, throttle sensor, speed magnet, and new motor. when driving it it acts normal but when you let off the throttle it coast till its about to stop and then it beeps and the motor stops the cart. any ideas what this could be? I put it in diagnostic mode and it beeps 4 times and thats it, i didnt see a code for 4 beeps

The 4 beeps mean you have a freedom chip installed. Did you adjust the ITS/plunger gap when you installed the new ITS?

nope. i called an ezgo tech and he told me with the pds's you shouldnt let off the throttle and coast to a stop, thats the same as towing it in run. he said it was normal, and yes the 4 beeps was because the chip in it

Take a look at frame 55 here:

Johnnie B is sending me these 3 pages from the instruction manual that tells you how to check/adjust the plunger/ITS gap. I think yours is the same as mine, it is 7/32 of an inch. Check yours and see if it is close.

Is a "speed magnet" a speed sensor?

BTW, with a freedom chip, there is no regen braking, I am almost certain, so that is not it..........

One more thing you might try. I know its a PITA, but take off the environmental cover and make sure you didn't unplug some wires when you put it on after the controller install. .....

i have no body on it and i checked all the wires. i adjusted the its plunger. So if you get to full speed and let off the throttle and coast to a stop does you cart not beep and put on the brakes? isn't coasting the same thing as towing?

I have never heard of coasting being the same as towing. I do know that if you have regen braking, you are not in freedom mode. Maybe the beeping is a pack voltGE WARNING? dO YOU KNOW WHAT THE PACK VOLTAGE IS? Sorry, caps lock was on. No, mine does not do that if I coast to a stop.

Then it will be in mild hill mode. It *does* have regen braking......
