Cool Txt, double key switch

Looking to keep the kids from getting hurt on a new build, controller is going to be SPM-48800. I have implemented 2 key switches in the system, so that half speed is activated with one and the other key acts normal.

Please let me know if you see any issues with this.

Welcome to the forum.

Half speed is for reverse. Forward will have whatever the SPM controller is programmed for.

The simplest way to limit forward (and reverse) speed is with a bolt through the gas pedal limiting how far it can be depressed. A carriage bolt works good for this as its head is smooth.

Yes I know it's typically for reverse but in the diagram I fixed a second key that will apply voltage to the half speed at all times. This way my key will allow the cart to run full speed (31 mph) and the other key should be limited to 15.5mph. I added some diode's into make sure voltage doesn't get back to the reverse beeper. Thanks, hope to be able to help other on the electrical side of things.

IF this idea works (not saying it won't), you'll need a unique-keyed switch for your "full power" mode, because one key fits all OEM switches.....

Yes it is my planned modification, thank you for posting. It wouldn't allow me too. :) And yes I plan to have 2 separate keyed ignition's.

Thanks
