Default What is wrong with this cart???!!!!???

1995 medalist-

My cart will not move! I've replaced:
6 new batteries
Plum quick motor
Controller
Solenoid

F&r mico switches seem to be fine, accelerator switch clicks.

Today when I replaced the solenoid, the electical connection from the accelerator sparked (see pic)

I'm losing my mind with this thing

The diode is installed backwards. Remove it for troubleshooting. Test it before using it later.

If the cart won't run check the Throttle box micro switch operation.

I took the diode off, tested for conductivity, which it has. It does have a small crack in it though. Is it toaste?

Is the controller hooked up correct? I had a 4 post 5 pin controller and the shop I got it from said ezgo does not use that anymore and gave me a 3 post and told me to hook up the extra wire (big red wire in pic) from the f&r switch to the B+ on the controller

I tested both the f&r micro switches and the throttle box micro switch. All three have conductivity.

Thank you for your help

Update- I'm doing more damage....

As stated in my first post, the connection from the accelerator sparked. I noticed it fried the connector so I cut it off and rewired it. After I rewired it, flopped the diode and rechecked all the micro switches, I tried it again......this time it fried the micro switch in the throttle box. I have no idea what is going on. I think everything is wired correctly and I'm causing more harm than good

I suggest you check the stickies and download and print the wiring diagram and follow it exactly

When you said the diode has conductivity but was cracked, I assume you know the diode should only conduct in one direction?

Which is why I suggested you remove it and not reinstall before testing. Installed incorrectly (as shown in picture #1) it creates a dead short. If the solenoid activation circuit is still working the solenoid clicks each time you press the gas peddle. If yes then check to see if control is getting power at pin #4
The diode must be replaced once the cart is running.

Yes-the diode has conductivity in one direction.

I did not rip out the entire wire harness, I just cut out the plastic 4 prong connector from the throttle box and spliced them together (red, black, green, white wires)

I'm assuming the connector shorted in the first place because I had the diode backwards-did I take out the new solenoid with it? But why would the micro switch in the throttle box go? Too much power going to it?

I've tried to find a good wiring diagram but they all look different than mine. And when I bought this different controller, The shop I got it from said just move the cable from the f&r switch that is supposed to go to the A2 to the B+ on the controller. Then I read a thread on this forum that said just remove that cable.
