Re: Yamaha g1 pump question
no. why not put a rebuild kit in the pulse pump, should be cheaper than an electric pump.

Re: Yamaha g1 pump question
Yes I just did last week, I have 2x G1's from 84 -85 I just purchased and being new, the guy I bought it from said I needed a new fuel pump and I bought a couple on ebay. I connected them to D+ on the voltage regulator and they work fine. You have to prime the lines to get it pumping but it stays pressurized and works well. I mounted it to inside of rear wheel well near solenoids.
I haven't made any changes permanent yet as this is all a WIP for me so it's not fused but will be before cart leaves garage. |

Re: Yamaha g1 pump question
The problem would be what pressure the fuel pump puts out. Too high and the float could never close.

Re: Yamaha g1 pump question
and nine times out of ten the stock pump still is functional but stops working because the crank seals are bad and doesn't send the "pulse" to the pump.... that being said if the seals are bad it will be running lean and will eventually cause mass destruction to cylinder and piston
