Default Where can I find a great deal on a new starter/generator?

Looking for the best price on a new starter/generator for an 1984 G1 gas Yamaha. DB Electrical has one for $130.35, this is the best price I found so far.

I bought a S/G for my buddies 94 Club Car from DBelectrical some 5 years ago,
It was the cheapest I could find, and it's still working to this day!

BUT, there were a couple of problems...
They shipped it in a USPS flat rate box with minimal packing, when I got it, it had a bent/broken stud mount!
I emailed DB 3 times, called once, and never got a response back!
My buddy brought it to a local starter rebuilder, they straightened it out, and epoxied the mount for $20.

2 weeks later, it started making a lot of noise, and come to find out? the pulley was never torqued down!
(I guess you get what you pay for!)

Just something to expect if you decide to order from them!

Why don't you have yours rebuilt instead of buying a new one. You don't know the quality of the new starter -- why take the chance. I would rather put a 100.00 into the old one then take a chance buying a 150.00 cheapy.

I guess that would depend on the rebuilder...
My buddy tried that with his original S/G, he took it to 2 different local shops here in Green Bay,
Both wanted over $200 to rebuild it, and no warranty!

I have not had good luck with DB Electrical. I purchased one of their small 40 amp alternators and would be lucky if I got 50 hrs before it stopped working. Time had elapsed on the warranty so I'm stuck with a new looking alternator that doesn't work.

ok so I got the new generator and hooked it up. I had to put the old pulley on it. I had to file the keyway down a little to get it to fit and flip it around to line it up. It's working great. Will post if I encounter any problems. I would have gotten the old one rebuild but a great rebuilder around here just went out of business. He was great, had great prices and good work. Sorry to see him go.
