Yamaha G1
Okay I'm new here. Just got my first golf cart. It's a 1982 Yamaha G1. I know just my luck. It has a bad motor and all I can find is kits for everything but 1982 motor. What are my options? Can I just buy the normal kit and put it in or should I look for a hole new motor? I was thinking of.putting a 4 stroke engine in it but I want to have reverse.

Re: Yamaha G1
I have the same cart (and the same problems finding parts) haha. From what I've heard from other members the only difference between the 82 and the other years is the compression (please correct me if I'm wrong). The cylinder jug is different but I'm pretty sure the bottom ends use the same parts. Is the motor complete toast or can it be salvaged? Those motors seem to last awhile once rebuilt from what I hear. May be worth a rebuild IMO.
