Thumbs up Yamaha G9 engine adjustment ( backfiring issue & running rough )

I had problems recently with the running of my G9, I of course cleaned out the carb, followed the great instructions on bypassing the govenor, I had thought by cleaning out the carb it would fix it, but it didn't so I tried this trick: the engine was doing alot of back firing so I decided to try to adjust the lifters, once I adjusted them, it stopped the back firing and now its running smooth.
I do have a new carb on order which I will replace then.
Just a tip to throw out here for those that are having similar issues that haven't tried the lifter adjustments.

PS > this forum is great, loads of info and love to see what everyone rides.

Default Ok replaced with new Carb and...........

Though most of the running issue was corrected, I went ahead and replaced the carb with a new one, it screams now, my wife better hold on now !
I also replaced the mag aluminum wheels with wider steel wheels and painted them black since I am getting ready to mossy oak this G9 up for hunting season.
Man I tell ya with the tires wider and the black rims, it looks so much better than the mag ones..

Anyway..........
If all else fails when you adjust the lifters, clean out the carb, change gas filter and spark plug ( thats if your rings arent bad ) this should fix you right up

And I thought cedartown was so small no one knew where it was

me and my wife eat at Zorbas alot and Kasey's Country kitchen has the best lunch buffet hands down, heck their food rates up there like my mom's

Hon is still in business, my wife works at H & W Trucking and Hon is what keeps them in business.

Nice to know cedartown isnt as small as I thought ;)
