GP...It's been so long since I did a (what we called a Retro Fit) G16 to G8 body upgrade but, I do remember having to take off the (G bolted on frame work for the windshield support and welding on some steel supports to "alighn" with the new G16 front cowel holes. And for some strange reason..I thought we "cut" and "rewelded" the frame support for the mounting behind the Yamaha emblem. I may be wrong (I often am, just ask Joyce), my biggest problem with the upgrade was cutting the rear body to accept the G8 "seat back/bag rack" frame work. Sometimes it looked great, other time looked "cheesy", not "professional". Then we would have to fabricate brackets to mount a new style G16 rear bumper. Now this has been 10 or so years ago....so I may have forgotten alot. Hope any of this will help. Later dave

Been reading old threads tonight, and ran across this. I've run into a whole gaggle of new G8 owners lately, and thought this might be of interest to some. And I'd like to thank the people who participated here.
Enjoy! Mike

You are right on small block, my 8 came with the new body on it and all the supports were beaten on or cut off. I beat on it as a set of saw horses or a wheel barrow so it works for me.
