Default 1988 club car power problems

Hi,
I am a new member so be easy on me.
I have a '88 Club Car with v-glide and a high speed motor.
We use it around our property (56 acres), the grand kids really enjoy it.
I have replaced the v-glide,F/W switch and the solonoid.
The v-glide was replaced about 3 months ago ,ran good until about a week ago. The wires to the forward reverse switch melted ,replaced wires ,cart was running real slow. The solonoid was cracked and the f/w switch was in bad shape so I relaced them.Took cart to mail box about an 1/8 mile ran fine,
took mail into house, went back to take cart to pond, wouldn't run. Solonoid
engages cart will barely move, batteries are fully charged.
I have checked all connections, they seem solid.
I had trouble rewiring after changing the solonoid and f/w switch, had a friend that sells used carts and had a model the same as mine. I rewired mine the same as it.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

how old are your batteries? That is one guess.

The other is on a 20 year old car, you may be having motor problems.. all the shorting switches kind of point to it as well.

phasetim:
Thanks for the reply.
The batteries are less than a year old. All check good.
I was wondering about the motor , I plan on checking it out,if I can figure out how to do it.
Sure hope that is not the problem.
