dead batteries/bad charger
The charger will not kick on and charge the batteries. Is my charger bad or the batteries? Is there anything I can do to see what the case my be.

Re: dead batteries/bad charger
Make sure all your connections are good. Your batteries could possibly be too low for the charger to kick on.(more than likely) The golf cart charger has to see around 28 + volts DC to kick on. If all your connections are good you can use a 12VDC automotive type charger to charge 12 volts at a time until you can get the batteries up enough for the golf cart charger to kick on.
Or if you have an OBC type cart the OBC could be bad. What year/model is your cart? |

You didn't give much info...Club Car? What year or serial #? 36 or 48 volt? Old batteries? What brand? Cables old and corroded? The charger will not come on when the battery pack is too low for the charger to 'see' it. With a voltmeter, check all of the batteries and list the readings here? |

Re: dead batteries/bad charger
We own a IR 2001 48V club car. We use it only during the spring, summer, and fall. Thanks for the hospitality.

Re: dead batteries/bad charger
So my guess is the cart sat for the winter and now it won't run & won't charge? Is that correct?
Are these the original batteries? Do you have a voltmeter to get a reading on all of the batteries and post it here? |
